Get Started Now: take the 60-second, self-concept assessment and discover your potential!

Self-Concept Practitioner Certification™

Transform how you see yourself. Make personal change a practiced skill.

Make your next chapter less about pushing harder, and just go farther because of who you are.

Applications are open for the cohort starting Nov 10th.

You know what you want to change.

You want to speak up instead of second-guessing yourself.

Follow through on something important instead of starting over.

Set a boundary without spending the rest of the day questioning it.

You’ve made plans. Had insights. Perhaps experienced moments when things felt different.

Then something happens, and the familiar conclusion returns:

“I’m just not confident.”

“I’ve never been disciplined.”

“I’m not someone people listen to.”

You know what you want to do. But it doesn’t feel consistent with who you are.

That’s what you’ll explore in the Self-Concept Practitioner Certification™.

Not just what you want to achieve.

But the beliefs you hold about the person trying to achieve it.

Under Damon Cart’s guidance, you’ll learn the self-concept model developed by Steve Andreas, apply it to meaningful areas of your life, and practice working with the qualities you want to develop.

Your own change is central to the training, not an exercise you complete on the way to a certificate.

What if you could transform those limiting beliefs instead of repeatedly struggling against them?

Consider the difference between:

“I need to force myself to speak up.”

And:

“I’m someone who can express what matters to me.”

Between:

“I hope I can stick with this.”

And:

“I know how to be persistent and adjust when something isn’t working.”

The goal isn’t to convince yourself you’re perfect or that you’ll never struggle again.

It’s to develop a more useful, grounded sense of yourself and the skills to transform limiting beliefs into beliefs that help you tap into your potential.

So when a familiar limitation appears, you have the skills to change it.

We call that Transformational Confidence.

Not certainty that everything will go your way.

Transformational Confidence is knowing how to shape your sense of self, develop the qualities your goals call for, and create the life you want.

What makes self-concept work different?

Think of a quality you already know you possess.

Perhaps you’re caring. Curious. Resourceful.

How do you know?

You likely have experiences you draw on as evidence.

You can probably remember exceptions, too.

Being caring doesn’t mean you’ve acted caringly in every situation. Yet those exceptions may not erase your overall understanding of yourself.

Now consider a quality you feel less certain about.

Perhaps you have plenty of examples of being capable—but one setback makes you question the whole thing.

How are you organizing those qualities differently?

That question gets to the heart of the model.

The content is the belief:

“I’m capable.”

The structure is how you represent and organize the experiences that make that belief feel true or doubtful.

That might include:

  • Which memories come to mind.

  • How you picture those experiences.

  • What you say to yourself about them.

  • How you connect your past with your expectations for the future.

  • What you do with experiences that seem to contradict the quality.

You’ll learn to investigate these differences.

Rather than simply asking, “What would I like to believe?”

You’ll learn by working on something that matters to you

This certification isn’t designed around watching lessons and collecting information.

You’ll choose meaningful goals, practice the skills, and document your experience.

Perhaps you want to:

  • Communicate more openly in your relationships.

  • Approach a career opportunity with greater self-trust.

  • Follow through on a project you keep postponing.

  • Develop healthier boundaries.

  • Respond to mistakes without turning them into a verdict on your worth.

You won’t work on every area at once.

You’ll learn to choose a context, identify relevant qualities, and give your change work a clear direction.

The aim is to connect what you learn with how you actually live.

After spending about an hour on a self-concept exercise, one student who struggled with overexplaining and seeking approval reported calmer thoughts, less pressure to find the perfect words, and feeling accepted simply for existing.

This won’t be the right fit if you…

  • Want change without making time to practice.

  • Expect one technique to resolve every difficulty.

  • Want to collect another course without applying it.

  • Aren’t willing to examine your assumptions or receive feedback.

  • Are looking for a promise that you’ll never experience doubt or setbacks again.

But if you…

  • Have an area of life where familiar beliefs keep getting in your way.

  • Want to understand yourself more specifically, not just label yourself.

  • Are willing to practice and reflect on what happens.

  • Want guidance, structure, and a community while you learn.

  • Would value developing skills you can return to as new challenges arise.

Here’s how we’ll work through it together.

Phase 1: Start with a change that matters to you

We begin with The Foundation™.

You’ll explore a belief you already recognize in yourself, so you have a familiar place to start.

With guidance, you’ll notice which experiences support it, how you make sense of those experiences, and what happens when you remember an exception.

Then you’ll begin applying what you learn to a quality you want to develop.

You won’t need to memorize the whole model before trying it. You can use a reference sheet as you practice.

The first milestone: learn the core skills and demonstrate a change in a specific quality in yourself.

Phase 2: Build beliefs you want to rely on

Next, we’ll connect the work to a meaningful area of your life through Projects for Change™.

Suppose you want to speak more openly in important conversations.

What would support you?

Courage. Honesty. Compassion. Determination

You’ll learn to work with qualities that feel unfamiliar, strengthen ones that feel uncertain, and explore descriptions of yourself that no longer serve you.

And if concerns arise, they belong in the conversation.

You might want to be more assertive and protect a relationship.

More ambitious and have room to rest.

You won’t be asked to push those concerns aside. You’ll learn to explore them as part of the work.

Step by step, you’ll apply the approach to your chosen goals and record what you discover.

Phase 3: Bring the change into everyday life

The point isn’t just to feel different during a session.

It’s to explore what happens in the situations that matter to you.

The conversation you’ve been avoiding.

The project you want to finish.

The moment when you would usually hold back.

You’ll notice what feels different, where you still get stuck, and what needs more attention.

Try it. Notice what happens. Get guidance. Adjust.

There’s no requirement to get everything right on the first attempt. Learning to evaluate and refine your work is part of developing the skill.

You won’t have to figure everything out alone

The pathway brings together:

  • Course materials in the SCRG Academy to study the model.

  • Foundation Track™ sessions, live or recorded, to support progressive learning.

  • Connection Calls™ for questions and discussion.

  • Core-skill practice opportunities to apply what you’re learning.

  • Support from advanced students who are further along the pathway.

  • Projects for Change™ calls and workshops to support your projects.

  • The Transformation Tracker and tutorials to help you document and review your work.

Your learning rhythm is straightforward:

Study a section. Practice a skill. Bring your questions. Apply it to your life. Review what happened.

Individual coaching is available as an additional paid option if you want personalized assistance.

Why a practitioner certification if your priority is personal change?

Because your aim can be more than receiving help with one issue.

You can learn the model and develop the skills to participate actively in your own change process.

The certification gives that learning a structure:

Skills to practice. Projects to complete. Requirements to demonstrate.

You do not need to make helping others your primary goal to take your own development seriously.

If you later want to explore applying these skills with others, that is a separate consideration—within your competence and professional scope.

Here, the starting point is you.

What you value.

What you want to change.

And the person you want to become.

What earning the certification involves

Certification requires demonstrated application—not attendance alone.

Level 1

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the five core skill areas.

  • Demonstrate the transformation of a specific quality in yourself.

Level 2

  • Complete three documented Projects for Change™.

The certification recognizes completion of this training’s requirements. It is not a mental-health license or a substitute for mental-health care.

P.S. Think of one thing you want to do differently.

Now notice the description of yourself that appears alongside it.

“I’d like to speak up, but I’m not confident.”

“I want to finish this, but I’m not disciplined.”

“I want to set a boundary, but I’m not assertive.”

That gap—between what you want and who you believe you are—is a starting point for the work.
